Overview

NextKS Voice is an Android app that lets you interact with the same AI assistant you use in Slack or Teams — by speaking. Conversations continue seamlessly between your team chat and the voice app: start in Slack (or Teams), continue by voice, and switch back to chat — the AI remembers everything. The AI assistant has access to all your organization’s MCP tools during voice calls, so you can query tickets, update tasks, search your knowledge base, and more — hands-free. After each call, a brief summary is automatically posted to your Slack or Teams DM so you and your colleagues have a record of what was discussed and what actions were taken.

Getting started

1. Download the app

Open the NextKS web app on your phone and navigate to Account:
  1. Go to app.nextks.com on your Android phone
  2. Sign in with your Slack or Teams account
  3. Go to Account from the sidebar
  4. Under NextKS Voice, tap Download Android App
  5. Open the downloaded file and install it
Your phone may prompt you to allow installation from unknown sources. This is normal for apps distributed outside the Play Store.

2. Log in

  1. Open the NextKS Voice app
  2. Tap Log In on the overlay
  3. You’ll be redirected to the NextKS web app in your browser
  4. Since you’re already signed in from step 1, authentication completes instantly
  5. You’re redirected back to the app — ready to go
The app uses the same Slack/Teams OAuth as the web app. No separate credentials needed. Your session stays active until you explicitly log out.

3. Make a voice call

  1. Tap the orange Call button
  2. The AI assistant greets you — listen through your speaker
  3. When you see Listening…, speak your question or request
  4. The assistant processes your speech, responds via voice, and displays a live transcript
  5. Tap Hang Up when you’re done
A call summary is automatically posted to your Slack or Teams DM after you hang up.

Features

Cross-channel conversation continuity

Voice calls share the same conversation history as your team chat (Slack or Teams). The AI remembers what you discussed in either channel:
  • Ask about a ticket in chat → continue the conversation by voice
  • Assign a task via voice → the bot in your team chat knows about it
  • The AI assistant maintains full context between chat and voice

MCP tool access

During a voice call, the AI has access to all your organization’s connected MCP tools — the same ones available in your team chat and through the NextKS MCP. You can:
  • Query your project management tools
  • Search the knowledge base
  • Create or update tickets
  • Check team assignments
  • Anything your MCP connectors support
For safety in noisy environments, the AI will ask you to confirm before executing any action that modifies data (create, update, delete, assign, etc.). Read-only queries proceed directly.

Call summaries

When you hang up, the AI generates a brief digest of the call — topics discussed and actions taken — and posts it to your bot DM in Slack or Teams. This gives your team visibility into voice interactions without requiring them to listen to recordings.

Automatic reconnection

If your phone loses connectivity during a call (weak signal, Wi-Fi handoff, etc.), the app automatically reconnects and resumes the conversation. The AI acknowledges the interruption and picks up where you left off.

Error log

Tap the document icon in the top-left corner to view a log of any errors that occurred during your session. You can copy the log to your clipboard for troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Android 7.0 (API 24) or later
  • Microphone permission (requested on first call)
  • Internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
  • An active NextKS account with Slack or Teams

Tips

  • Speak naturally — The AI understands conversational speech. No need for keywords or commands.
  • One topic at a time — For best results, ask one question or give one instruction per turn, then wait for the response.
  • Language support — The AI responds in the language you speak. Czech and English are fully supported; other languages work but may have reduced accuracy.
  • Speed control — You can ask the AI to speak faster or slower at any time during the call.
  • Noisy environments — The app adapts to ambient noise levels. In very noisy environments, speak clearly and pause briefly between turns.
